The Organization of the Angels

1. There are at least two orders of angels:

   3. Some Bible scholars consider the Archangel(s), and the creatures described in Revelation 4 to be additional orders of angels.

   4. Angels comforted Jesus after His temptation. (Matt. 4:11)

   6. Angels announced the resurrection. (Matt. 28:6)
       

   7. Angels minister to believers.

The Nature of Satan

1. Satan is a cherubim. (Ezek. 28:14)

Demons.

1. Demons are fallen angels, who sided with Satan in his attempt to usurp God's throne. (Rev. 12:4)

The Activity of Demons

1. Demons attempt to thwart the purposes of God. (Dan 10:10-14)
    

2. Demons serve Satan. (Eph. 6:11-12)

4. Demons can inflict diseases. (Matt. 9:33)
    

5. Demons can possess men. (Matt. 4:24)

   1. Demon possession means a demon living in a person, exerting direct control and influence over that person, with certain derangement of mind and/or body.
       

   2. Demon possession sometimes results in disease.

   3. Demon possession results in symptoms similar to that of mental derangement . (Matt. 17 :15)
       

   4. Only unsaved people can be indwelt by demons since Christians are indwelt by the Holy Spirit.
       

The Destiny of Demons

• Demons will eventually be cast into the lake of fire with Satan.

The Believer's War With Satan

1. The believer is unable to stand against the attacks of Satan in his own strength. The disciples found that certain demons were beyond the power that Jesus had given them. Even with supernatural authority, the disciples were dependant upon God's power. (Mark 9:14-29)
    

2. It is only the armor of God that enables believers to have victory over the enemy. (Eph. 6:10-18)
    

3. James tells us that if we submit ourselves to God, and resist the devil, and he will flee from us. (James 4:7)
    

4. The Lord demonstrated this truth during his own temptation. (Matt. 4:1-11)
